Tupac Shakur was a rapper and incredibly gifted artist, who spoke to the spiritual realities of the street in his rap, as well as successfully capturing the raw violence of the street in his gangsta rap.

Tupac’s top songs were:

  2. “Dear Mama/Old School” ( #1, 5 weeks )
  3. “Keep Ya Head Up”  ( peaked #2,  not representative of it’s fame/impact )
  4. “Thugz Mansion” ( peaked #4 )
  5. “Smile” ( peaded #4 )

Tupac’s parents were Black Panthers: Alice Faye William a.k.a. Afeni Shakur, and Billy Garland.

Tupac died September 13th, 1996 from gunshot wounds.  It is still unknown who killed him.
